The mission of the Rogers Park Organization is to elect officials who will represent the interests of residents in Rogers Park. One of our goals is to bring candidates to Rogers Park so voters can ask questions and give their opinions on the issues that affect them.
In our first event we held a very successful forum where all four democratic candidates running for Cook County Board President (Current Board President Todd Stroger, County Clerk Dorothy Brown, Alderman Toni Preckwinkle, and President of the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District Terry O’Brien) came to our community and presented their views and discussed the issues. The forum was held on Sunday January 24th. Carol Marin, Political Editor/NBC5 News and Political Columnist/Chicago Sun-Times/WTTW Channel 11, was the moderator. Three TV stations sent film crews along with one cable show. A number of local print reporters were in the audience.
